POSTCODE TRUST

Registered charities, SCIOs, constituted voluntary and community groups, social enterprises, community interest companies (CIC), not-for-profit organisations and sports clubs are eligible to apply. Grants range from £500 to £10,000 for organisations in Scotland and England and up to £5,000 for those in Wales. 

All projects should provide assistance in one or more of the Trust’s following fields of operation:

• Prevention of poverty; reduction of distress and suffering.
• Advancement of health.
• Advancement of citizenship or community development.
• Advancement of public participation in sport.
• Advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation.
• Advancement of environmental protection or improvement.

The Fund is open to applications with a deadline of 8 November 2013 for applications from Scotland, Wales and Greater London.

POWYS ENVIRONMENTAL PARTNERSHIP SMALL GRANT SCHEME OPEN

The Small Grant Scheme is one of the ways the Partnership works within the community to encourage environmental projects. The Grant can be offered to any project within Powys that will bring a benefit to the environment and communities of Powys. Over the years the Grant has supported events ranging from environmental fairs to school recycling projects. Any innovative project that works toward our key environmental priorities will be considered.

All projects of an environmental nature, ranging from single events to longer term projects that are supported by and provide for the community will be considered by the panel. Climate change and biodiversity projects are particularly welcome but innovative schemes related to any of the Partnership’s priority working areas are acceptable. Projects around wildlife habitats, education, art in the environment and events have all been supported by the Small Grants Scheme.

CHILDREN IN NEED SURGERY NEXT WEEK - BOOK NOW!!

BBC Children in Need are coming to Powys on FRIDAY 11^TH OCTOBER to hold a funding surgery.

BBC Children in Need supports stable, well-managed, and effective organisations that work with disadvantaged children and young people aged 18 years and under living in the UK (groups that work with people of all ages may also apply as long as the project is focused on work with those aged 18 and under). Disadvantaged children and young people include those affected by:

• illness, distress, abuse, or neglect;
• any kind of disability;
• behavioural or psychological difficulties;
• living in poverty or situations of deprivation.

Community Covenant Grant Scheme

The Community Covenant Grant Scheme is to help local projects that aim to strengthen the ties between members of the Armed Forces Community and the wider community in which they live.

The aims of the Covenant are to:

• Encourage local communities to support the Armed Forces Community in their areas, and vice versa;
• Promote understanding and awareness among the public of issues affecting the Armed Forces Community;
• Recognise and remember the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces Community;
• Encourage activities which help to integrate the Armed Forces Community into local life.

Amount of Funding Available

Applications will be considered for funding between £100 to £250,000.

Applications are administered by us, for the Ministry of Defence (MOD), on behalf of Her Majesty’s Government.
