FRIDAY FUNDING TIP

Last Friday's tip was about contacting funders before making applications, so this tip follows on nicely!
If an application is turned down, it is always worthwhile getting in touch, to see if the funder will give you feedback. Some will, some won't, depending on the resources available to them. I spoke to a group last Friday, who had applied to a fund twice, and been turned down both times. On receiving the second turn down, they contacted the funder to see where they were going wrong. They were surprised to find out that their application was fine, it was the supporting evidence that needed to be strengthened. They were then told how this could be improved, and were pleased that it was straightforward, and could be done simply.

So it just goes to show that if you don't ask, you don't get. I'll let you know how the group get on this time. Fingers crossed!

Remember, PAVO's Development team can also help, by reading applications before they are submitted too, free of charge.
