New Energyshare Round Announced

The second round of grants through the Energyshare Fund are available to give community groups in Britain the opportunity to save energy and get involved in sourcing, using and generating their own renewable energy.
Projects should save or generate energy locally, have the support of the local community and benefit the community with a tangible and lasting impact.
There are two levels of grant available:
  • Three grants of £2,500 are available. No match funding is required for these grants.
  • Five match funding grants of £5,000 are available to groups which are the first to raise £5,000 from alternative sources.
Match funding grants are available to the first five groups which raise the target value of £5,000. The competition will close once these five match funding grants have been awarded.
Groups applying for match funding are required to register their community projects on http://www.peoplefund.it/ free of charge, and build up pledges from supporters to reach the £5,000 target.
An application form for the small grants is available to complete online on the Energyshare website.
The deadline for small grants of £2,500 is 10 May 2012.
