2011 International Women's Day Grant for Wales

The Welsh Assembly Government has announced a grant to fund events surrounding the centenary celebrations for International Women’s Day (IWD) 2011. Around the world, IWD marks a celebration of the economic, social, cultural and political achievements of women.

The 2011 theme is ‘A Celebration of Women’s Achievements in the Last 100 Years’, and applications should reflect this theme.

A total grant fund of £30,000 is available with each payment limited to £2,500. Funding events should highlight issues and concerns relating to women and represent the diverse needs of women in Wales.

The main emphasis will be on events held across the regions in Wales, in the North, Mid, West and South. Welsh Assembly Government will favour not-for-profit organisations that establish a partnership to organise events together which promote IWD.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 17 December 2010.
