Last week's Lottery Events saw a big turnout in Powys from many voluntary and community groups. From speaking to those attending the events provided a really useful opportunity to talk face to face to the different lottery funding streams about their projects.
It was also useful from a Development Officer's point of view to get to know what is available currently. It is always good to see familiar faces, and hear about latest developments, and it was also good to meet some new faces and have an opportunity to inform them about how PAVO can help.
At the afternoon event in Llandrindod, Heritage Lottery Fund Development Manager Liz Girling reported to those present, that despite the economic situation we are currently facing, lottery spending has in fact increased (perhaps unsurprisingly), which means there is more money available for award. The message being sent out to groups was "if you don't ask, you don't get".
