National Science and Engineering Week (NSEW) 2014 Grant Scheme for Wales

The National Science and Engineering Week (NSEW) 2014 Grant Scheme for Wales is open to applications from organisations and schools in Wales that require support to stage NSEW inspired events and activities.
Grants of £200 are available to schools and up to £350 is available to organisations. Priority will be given to:
  • Events that target new and traditionally under-represented audiences, for example in socially disadvantaged or rural communities.
  • Events that engage STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) professionals with young people to encourage a progression into STEM careers.
  • Events in schools that include parents and the wider community as an audience.
  • Events that would not otherwise take place due to lack of funding.
  • Organisations that have not previously been involved in running STEM events and activities.
  • Events that have great potential for raising the profile of NSEW locally and/or have broad media appeal.
  • Schools that are not funded by the separate BIS grant for schools in challenging circumstances.
NSEW runs from 14-23 March 2014.
The closing date for applications is 9 December 2013.
