FUNDING FOR PROJECTS IMPROVING LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY 2011-12

Community organisations and Third (voluntary) Sector groups are invited to bid for Community Led Funding, for projects greater than £1,000 but less than £30,000. The deadline for applications is Friday, 4th March 2011.

The LEQ Improvement Projects Grant Scheme will from April 2011 come under the Tidy Towns banner.

Eligible projects may include:

• clean-ups;
• improving neglected spaces;
• developing community gardens and allotments;
• installation of prevention measures;
• access improvements;
• control of invasive species;
• biodiversity and habitat projects; and
• awareness campaigns.

Applications under £1,000 should be directed to Keep Wales Tidy who operate a small grants scheme.

Calling all groups in the Brecon Beacons National Park (2)

The Brecon Beacons Trust supports projects that:

• Encourage environmental conservation, protection and improvement of the Park for the benefit of the public.

• Greater educational awareness and knowledge of the conservation, protection and improvement of the Park’s physical, natural and archaeological environment.
