MONEY SAVING EXPERT ‘RAISING THE NEXT GENERATION’ GRANTS

Grants up to £7,500 available to UK not-for-profit organisations for projects relating  to the delivery of financial skills to different defined groups.
Application deadline: programme opens on Monday 4 February with a deadline of Friday 1 March or when 40 applications are received, whichever is the sooner. Applicants are therefore strongly advised to apply as soon as possible after the programme opens to applications.
The Money Saving Expert (MSE) Charity provides grants to UK not-for-profit organisations that deliver activities which make a lasting impact on how people think, behave and manage their money.
Each funding round has a different theme. The theme for the February 2019 round is 'Raising the Next Generation’.
‘Raising the Next Generation’ is aimed at projects that focus on building financial capability skills assisting groups who support children, young people and families.
Projects must increase the personal financial capability of one of the groups listed in the Raising the Next Generation theme. These are:
o Schools-based work;
o Migrants;
o Lone parents;
o Victims and survivors of domestic abuse;
o Families;
o Youth; and
o Children.
All applications must demonstrate how the project they are seeking funding for has a lasting impact on people who have or care for those living with long-term challenges as listed above by supporting them to become more financially capable.
Small to medium-sized non-profit organisations with a constitution, including UK registered charities, community interest companies, social enterprises and credit unions may apply for a grant of up to £7,500.
Match funding is not an essential requirement for projects costing £7,500 or less.
Eligible applicants should:
1. Have an annual income of less than £500,000; and
2. Have unrestricted reserves that are less than six months of their running costs.
The following are not funded:
o Statutory organisations;
o Capital equipment such as laptops, projectors or other electronic devices; and
o Applications only providing debt advice/management.
Applications are invited twice a year: in February and September.  The next round opens on Monday 4 February and closes on either Friday 1 March or when 40 applications have been received (so if you're interested apply as close to 4 February as you can!)
A grant eligibility quiz, online application form, guidance notes and FAQs are available on the MSE Charity website.
Applicants that wish to discuss their project prior to applying are welcome to email the Operations Manager, Katie Davies, at the address below.
