David Solomons Charitable Trust

The David Solomons Charitable Trust offers grants to registered charities supporting people with learning difficulties.
In particular, the Trust wishes to support:
o Smaller, local projects which focus on care and treatment of those with learning difficulties; and
o Research into learning disabilities.
To be eligible for funding, organisations must be UK registered charities working with both physically and mentally disabled people and able to show that at least 75% of those supported have learning difficulties. Eligible projects include furnishing or equipping rooms
Previous grants have been for up to £8,000 although the vast majority of awards are for £1,000 or less.
During the financial year ending 5 April 2015 the Trust allocated £111,330 to 98 organisations. Previous awards have included:
Funding is not available for:
o Administrative costs; or
o Building projects.  
PLEASE NOTE: the Trust does not maintain its own website. Further information is, however, available on the Charity Commission website.
Interested applicants may apply at any time in writing.
Applications should be received one month before Trustee meetings, which take place in May and November.
