Kathleen Hannay Memorial Charity

The Kathleen Hannay Memorial Charity provides grants between the range of £15,000 to £25,000 to registered charities throughout the UK for a wide variety of UK and worldwide causes. Applicants must be UK registered charities.
Grant awards can be made on a one-off or recurring basis.
Grants are available under the following broad headings:
o The prevention or relief of poverty;
o The advancement of education;
o The advancement of religion;
o The advancement of health or the saving of lives;
o The advancement of the arts, culture, heritage or science;
o The advancement of environmental protection or improvement;
o The relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage; or
o General charitable purposes.
PLEASE NOTE: funding is not available for individuals.
During the financial year ending 5 April 2015 the Charity made donations totalling £357,500 to 29 registered charities  (2014: £358,500 to 33 registered charities).
Major awards included:
About Play/Sheffield Out of School Network (£17,500);
o Bristol based, Networking Counselling and Training (£15,000);
o Sheffield's Pitsmoor Adventure Playground (£85,000 – this level of award is an exception to the Charity’s usual grant making policy); and
o London and Kent-based charity, St Christopher's Hospice(£15,000).
The Charity does not maintain a website or provide an email address.
