Objectives of Fund

The Fund aims to make a lasting difference for heritage, people and communities in the UK.

Value Notes

Grants of between £10,000 and £100,000 are available.

Match Funding Restrictions

HLF can provide up to 100% of the total project costs. However, whether a cash contribution is offered or not, applicants are encouraged to gain support for the project in the form of non-cash contributions and volunteer time.

Who Can Apply

Applications will be accepted from the following in the UK:

• Not-for-profit organisations, including:
  • Community or voluntary groups.
  • Community Interest Companies.
  • Charities or trusts.
  • Social enterprises.
  • Parish councils.
  • Local authorities.
  • Other public sector organisations, such as nationally funded museums.
• Private owners of heritage, including individuals and for-profit organisations.
• Partnerships of the above.

Partnerships must nominate a lead applicant.
