Brecon and Radnor Samaritans celebrate new office opening

Local dignitaries, volunteers and supporters turned out in force in Llandrindod on the 2nd July to celebrate the opening of the new offices of the Brecon and Radnor Samaritans. The offices at 2 High Street were opened officially by Roger Williams MP, followed by tours of the building and afternoon tea. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the commitment to the organisation from its volunteers was evident.

The new offices will include a charity shop upstairs, with a duty room, and drop in facility downstairs, along with a training room. The group hope that the new premises will help them retain volunteers, as they are entirely dependant on volunteers to provide the service.

The charity shop will provide an important source of income as you may be surprised to find out that the Brecon and Radnor branch is an independent charity, and receives no funding from the national umbrella group.

There will be a new recruitment drive for volunteers in the Autumn.
