Clara E Burgess Trust

The Clara E Burgess Trust Grant is intended to support projects that "benefit the health and well-being of children and young people, in particular by the provision of facilities and assistance to enhance the education, health and physical well-being of such children, in order that their conditions of life may be improved, and having particular regard to children under the age of 10 years and those who have lost either one or both parents."
Grants tend to be between £500 and £10,000. During the financial year ending 20 October 2014 the Trust allocated £296,102 in grants to 67 charities. The average award was £4,419.
Previous awards have included:
Cheshire Without Abuse (£2,700);
Children's Countryside Holiday Fund (£2,500)
Daisy’s Dream (£5,500);
Habitat for Humanity (£10,000);
Sudden Productions (£1,000); and
Wipe Your Tears (£5,000).
Applications may be submitted at any time and are considered at half-yearly intervals in January and July.
Applicants must be registered UK charities.
Applications should be made in writing, providing background details about their charity, the project they want funding for, and a breakdown of the funding costs. Annual accounts are also required.
The Trust requests that applications are kept as brief as possible.
